Meet Segun Violin
Akinduro Olusegun, popularly known as Segun Violin, is a Nigerian-born violinist, multi-disciplinary performing artist, multi-instrumentalist, and art enthusiast who uses experimental sound and music as a means of expression. His passion for music began at a very early age, inspired by music-loving parents and early exposure to a wide range of popular and contemporary genres.

He has performed for thousands of audiences across the world, with notable appearances at Olamide Live in London, Gloria the Musical – Showcase, Medway Culture Club Carnival, Together Festival, Wole Soyinka International Cultural Exchange, Contacting the World Festival, Stellenbosch International Chamber Music Festival (South Africa), Cairo Experimental Theatre Festival (Egypt), and MAPAS Festival in Las Palmas, Spain.
Segun Violin is recognized as one of the pioneering artists fusing the rich timbres of Afrobeats, Reggae, R&B, Reggaeton, Jazz, Pop, and Hip-Hop, seamlessly blended with the euphonious melodies of the violin. This unique fusion creates a contemporary sound rooted in African musical identity.
With a strong background in theatre, he has worked with renowned practitioners such as Segun Adefila, Wole Oguntokun, and Joshua Alabi. He has also been a member of the MUSON Orchestra, Divine Symphony Orchestra, and the Abuja Philharmonic Orchestra, and has served as Music Director for Soundwagon.
He has recorded and performed with notable artists including Aduke, Art Terry, Ade Bantu, Femi Kuti, Olamide, Young Jonn, and Fireboy DML, among others. Versatile and innovative, Segun Violin continues to push creative boundaries through flexible, genre-defying artistry and dynamic performance.
